A weekly trade magazine “Entertainer Today Cinema” of Mauritius has choosen Manoj Tiwari as the No.1 star, Rinku Ghosh as No.1 actress, and Aslam Sheikh as No.1 director of Bhojpuri cinema. The selection has been done on the basis of a survey done to assess popularity and readers choice. This is for the first time that a foreign magazine has done a survey of Bhojpuri cinema. “Bhojpuria Don” was choosen the best Bhojpuri film of the year. Manoj Tiwari is the most popular Bhojpuria face in Mauritius was evident when 99% readers choose him. Rinku Ghosh got 87% popular votes. Vinay Anand was declared No.1 Bright Future star and Anara Gupta as the Bright future starlet. Jeetsh Dubey was selected the best producer, Aslam Shekh the best director, Madhukar Anand the best music director, Vinay Bihari as the best lyrist. Shashikant Singh was choosen as the best P.R.O. Help was also taken from Indian journalists and websites to decide this popularity.
