From this year a new Bhojpuri Film Award is being started by Bhojpuri City, the reputed trade magazine of Bhojpuri cinema. This was announced recently at a press conference organized at Raheja Classic Club of Mumbai by Kishan Khadaria, patron of Bhojpuri City, and super stars Rakesh Pandey, Manoj Tiwari Mridul, singer Padmshree Udit Narayan Jha, producer and distributor Abhay Sinha, Rubal Dutta from Sahara Media, and, Manvendra Gokhale of Raj Oil.
Being organized on the lines of Filmfare Awards, the entries to this Bhojpuri City Film Awards will include all the Bhojpuri film released in year 2010. Kishan Khadaria said that the chief of the jury will be Rakesh Pandey.
At the conference the Bhojpuri City Trophy was unveiled by Aftab Shivdasani and Aditi Govatrikar amidst the presence of producers Durga Prasad and Ramakant Prasad, directors Rajkumar R.Pandey, Aslam Shekh, Harry Fernandes, Jagdish Sharma, stars Shailesh Lodha, Vinay Anand, Pankaj Kesri, Brajesh Tripathi, actresses Rani Chatterjee, Anara Gupta, Lovy Rohatagi, Bhojpuri City representative Akhilesh Kumar, and Film PROs Prashant-Nishant, Uday Bhagat, Shashikant Singh, and Samarjeet.
Prashant-Nishant, official PRO for BCCA-1 said that entertaining performances will be given on the occasion by the leading stars of Bhojpuri cinema industry.
