Once Vinod Khanna, and, Shatrughna Sinha were villains but later on they became successful heroes too. In Bhojpuri cinema, though, it is a little different. No.1 villain of Bhojpuri cinema Sanjay Pandey is gathering a fan following as hero even in the garb of a villain.
All the films of this villain were super hits, whether it was Deewana, or Saiyan Ka Sath Madaiya Me, or Saat Saheliyan, Devra Bada Satavela, Brijwa, or Daag. Viewers see a Vinod Khanna in him. He is the only villain of Bhojpuri cinema who goes against the system, out of the usual frame of a villain. Songs are filmed on him like a hero. He is seen fighting with Manoj Tiwari, Nirahua, Ravi Kishan, or Pawan Singh in every other film. He is present in every camp of Bhojpuri film industry. His success shows in the fact that one dozen of his films are releasing this year.
It is right that he looks like Vinod Khanna but he says modestly that it feels good when people compare him with a senior star like Vinod Khanna. At the same time he asserts that his acting is no where influenced by Vinod Khanna.
