Pakhi Hegde is amongst the top actresses of Bhojpuri cinema and is the first choice of every hero as well as producers, directors, distributors, and even theater owners. Despite being a non-Bhojpuria, Pakhi is the darling of the Bhojpuria film viewers and every film of hers is a success. She is the only heroine of Bhojpuri who loves doing off beat roles. Pakhi is also doing a Hindi film of international standard. She confessed of being unaware of the possible response of viewers when she decided to enter Bhojpuri cinema. But she was welcomed like she was related to Bhojpurias from her previous birth ! They called her Bhojpuria heart throb and made her the top heroine of Bhojpuri cinema. Pakhi is playing the role of a prostitute in “Lofar” who is out to destroy hero’s family but gets involved emotionally with him so deeply that she forgets the plan. She has behaved like a pro in the film with Nirahua as her hero. In “Devar Bhabhi” Pakhi plays the role of a Bhabhi of Pawan Singh. The relations between Bhabhi and Devar is very open in Bhojpuria society and their jokes sometimes become vulgar. But the film remains within the limits and shows the sacrosanct nature of Devar Bhabhi relationship. Pakhi is presently doing a lead role in a Hindi film “Woman from the east” which is planned to be shown in international film festivals before its release in 15 international languages with sub-titles.
