Whereas majority of girls dream of becoming a star of glamour, Gunjan Pant a girl from Uttaranchal wanted simply to become a doctor and was busy with her studies. However the destiny has other plans for her. As she was also participatinng in college functions and her performances on the stage showed that she is a total actress she got a chance to enter cinema and today is a busy actress of Bhojpuri film industry. Presented here are some excerpts from her interview :
Gunjan, you are being mentioned everywhere for your acting performances. How does it feel ?
I am enjoying it! I never thought of becoming a film actress and always dreamed of becoming a doctor. Though at the same time I was also participating in art and culture shows during my colleege days.
You have been cast with Manoj Tiwari, Ravi Kishan, and Nirahua. Working with all these super stars must be a dream coming true for you?
Certainly. But now this is a reality and I thank everyone who made this possible.
Last year Brijwa was your greatest hit. Do you hope to repeat that performance with Rampur Ka Laxman, Yadav Paan Bhandar, and Maar Deb Goli Kehu Na Boli etc films this year?
Yes certainly the success will be repeated. As an actress this is my hope because I have worked hard for these films.
You are the first actress of Bhojpuri who has entered films from music video and who has done stage shows abroad. How did it happen?
I wanted to be a doctor but my mother and sister encouraged me towards acting career. Some of my relatives were against it too. Unfortunately my father is not among us today and his absence will hurt me forever.
Whom will you credit for your success?
My parent, friends during bad days, and mostly to the veiwers of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh who gave me love and encouragement for success. I am also gratefull to my producers and specially Jitesh Dubey.
What is your experience in this area?
I have been lucky in this regard and everything has been good.
Do you consider yourself successfull?
I do whatever task is given to me and honestly too. Work is worship for me and it is my honesty towards it and the sacrtifice of my family that has made me successful.
