Bhikhari Thakur National Organisation and Rajendra Bhawan have organized a seminar on “Social Awareness of Bhikhari Thakur” at Delhi on Sunday, 23rd July 2011 at Rajendra Bhawan (near ITO), Delhi from 3 PM onwards. Padmashree Bhikhari Thakur was a socially aware folk artist who is often called the “Shakespeare of Bhojpuri”. His dance dramas “Bidesia” and “Beti Bechva” had created a social movement in those days. His observations of the social customs were very deep rooted and he created a mass awareness against many social evils.
Bhikhari Thakur was also honored as Padmashree.
The seminar will be chaired by Kedar Nath Singh, and will be addressed by Nityanand Tiwari, Manager Pandey, Sanjeev, Shatrughna Kumar, Mahendra Singh, Ajit Dubey (President, Bhojpuri Samaj, Delhi) and Manoj Bhawuk among others.
A cultural group will present Bhikhari Music at this occasion.
